Grief and depression can be devastating experiences. Let us help you through.
Since Elizabeth Kubler-Ross published her book explaining the grief process, nearly every counsellor has relied upon this as the Bible that helps them identify what a person is experiencing. However, it's not as simple as that.
The experience a person goes through after losing someone they love can go deeper than these five simple guidelines. You are probably going through emotions you have never experienced before. This can be confusing and bring about utter turmoil.
Some people believe if they get 'over' their grief through counselling, they will lose the precious memories of their loved one. Of course, some people want this, so they can deal with their own lives better, but other people want to cherish the fond memories of the one they have lost.
Grief can be debilitating, it can get you stuck in one place and not allow you to move on. While some people find themselves expressing the emotions of anger and rage and others feel so devastatingly low, it can seem as though there's no one turn to and nowhere to go. This can leave you feeling so isolated and alone.
When you're exeriencing depression, it feels as though the world is against you and you are not worthy of the things that others have. You can begin to blame yourself for all the bad things that have happened, that the world has it in for you and there's nothing you can do about it.
When you are depressed, there's no interest in life and absolutely no faith in it. Physically, emotionally and mentally. You wake up tired and hungry, yet you don't have the energy to greet yet another day, as it feels as though another disaster is in the making. You end up feeling stuck and unable to move forward.
With our counselling, we can help you deal with painful memories without you having to speak about them, and we can help you cherish the valuable memories without the pain involved.
So if you suffer with grief or loss, or going through a depressed state of mind and feel unable to cope with it, Windmills of the Mind may be able to help you through. Give us a call on 0774 741 7722 and we can book an appointment with you.
